GIS Manager

Job Summary:

The GIS Manager oversees, supervises and coordinates all aspects of Krech Ojard & Associates Geographic Information System (GIS) activities and operations, coordinates assigned activities with other disciplines and our clients, which include but is not limited to industrial, rail, energy, utilities and mining. Our GIS Team provides strategy, management, technology and risk consulting services to our clients around the world to address their most complex business challenges.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee all functions of the GIS Group, including technical development and project management.
• Supervision of the GIS Group to create an atmosphere of trust and seek diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation.
• Answer questions and provide direction to staff members in an effort to expand GIS services.
• Coaching staff including providing timely written and verbal feedback.
• Leveraging knowledge of GIS platforms, data management, and IT networks and how they serve businesses at the enterprise level.
• Application of GIS analysis, GIS mapping and GIS technical skills and knowledge.
• Utilize technical, functional, and interpersonal skills to build client relationships.
• Learn new technologies and business processes while stepping outside of traditional GIS roles.
• Performs other related functions as assigned or apparent.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

• Building, maintaining and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement.
• Communication with clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner while demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
• Contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with group members and proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback to the GIS staff.
• Work with one or more GIS platforms to perform functional configuration, design, consulting and technical development.
• Leveraging an understanding of relational databases and geodatabases.
• Designing, implementing and supporting business processes around a GIS platform that serves day-to-day needs of end users.
• Participation in client interviews, marketing presentations and proposal development.
• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors and individuals from other organizations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Other Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience working in a similar role. Experience preferred in ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS for server, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and IIS.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
