Engineering Technician

As a developmental Engineering Technician, you will assist in performing duties such as:

• Plan, execute, and review complex and unusual drawings.
• Utilize GIS databases and software to create surface maps and two and three dimensional surface models and maps.
• Utilize MicroStation and CADD software such as InRoads, Descartes, Digital Print Room, I/RAS B and I/RAS C, and MaxView to support engineers and architects.
• Utilize MicroStation and CADD software to complete civil engineering design assignments.
• Determine character and extent of designs required, giving full consideration to available materials, cost, operational requirements and practicability of design.

• Prepare layouts from available information such as previous surveys or soundings, title evidence and land maps on file.
• Create, modify, delete, transfer, copy, store, and plot graphic files in the preparation of engineering and architectural drawings and other related data.
• Maintain CADD hardware and software system by installing designer applications and general use software, develop customized applications and utility programs, perform routine file backup and maintenance for application programs.
• Prepare drawings for civil, electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural components.
