Job Summary:

The Geospatial Division of Ayres Associates is seeking candidates for a new Project Coordinator role within our Madison office in Wisconsin.  Ayres Associates has been an important fixture in the geospatial industry for over 50 years and our recent investments in mapping technology have opened many new opportunities for the company. The Aerial Mapping group desires to add this full-time Project Coordinator position to support the team with diverse project coordination responsibilities as the company prepares for continued growth. The successful candidate will have an active role in a wide range of geospatial projects and will help the team pursue opportunities with new clients and emerging markets.

Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Manager of the Aerial Mapping group.  The Project Coordinator will also work closely with other project managers and technical supervisors.  Typical Project Coordinator responsibilities include proposal development, project estimation, documentation, progress reporting, and client interaction.  The Project Coordinator will review and interpret project reports generated by information management software and participate in progress discussions with the management team on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree in geography and have a minimum of four years of professional experience.  Remote sensing, land surveying, GIS, or other related experience is beneficial.  Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills will be essential, as the successful applicant will frequently interact with project managers and technical supervisors. While this position does not require specific experience with public speaking or client communication, a successful candidate will demonstrate interest and aptitude to develop these skills on the job.  Candidates should anticipate occasional and modest regional travel; a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.  Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

Other desirable experiences or skills include:

  • Experience with business development.
  • Experience with the acquisition or application of geospatial data (aerial imagery, LiDAR, etc.).
  • Background in asset management applications
  • Experience with municipal mapping applications and/or utility industries.
  • Experience with project accounting.
  • Professional certification in geospatial industry or related discipline (CP, GISP, etc.) is a plus.
