Job Description:
The CAD Technician, under the direction of the GIS Supervisor in the Technical Services Division, will assess the Diggers Hotline ticket requests, provide facilities information, and assist the CAD Coordinator to maintain engineering records and data to fulfill requests, in compliance with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze and process Diggers Hotline tickets in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain District static and electronic records and drawings (Document file systems, CAD management software).
- Complete special CAD projects and drawings as assigned by CAD Coordinator.
- Assist customers in retrieval of District records and fulfill department requests.
- Serve as CAD technical resource to District employees.
- Complete special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in CAD or minimum of 12 CAD course credits in a related field.
- One year of job related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Proficiency in interpreting utility record drawings, sketches, and supporting engineering documents
- Knowledge of the sewer and watercourse systems, land records, real estate interests (i.e. CSM, Plats, Alta Survey), and treatment plants facilities and structures desirable to the successful completion of job duties
- Computer software proficiency including Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, GIS, Document Management Systems
- Ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and related software, calculator, photocopier, large format plotter, and scanner, etc.
