Job Summary:
The position will report to the Director of Marketing/Sales Operations and will work cross-functionally with the Sales Operations Manager, Assistant Project Developers and Project Developers across all markets. It requires a resourceful and self-motivated candidate to support the sales team with desktop site qualification and advanced GIS tool building, which all contribute to generating opportunities for our sales teams.
Responsibilities:
- Learn commercial solar site qualification from best-in-class team
- Support sales teams across markets, while managing competing priorities
- Evaluate, install and maintain GIS software and databases needed for commercial solar site qualification to meet sales goals
- Manage and independently execute and deliver GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity
- Create and maintain GIS data, layers, maps, interactive maps and automated databases
- Perform geospatial data analysis resulting in maps, applications, reports and/or models
- Perform desktop electrical, environmental and land-based solar site qualification and produce lead lists to contribute to marketing/sales campaigns
- Produce a variety of mapping products for presentation (e.g. maps, figures, graphics, site lists)
- Program independently and work with web and database developers to implement and maintain comprehensive web and GIS applications
- Investigate, solve problems, and implement solutions for ensuring data quality and delivery
- Work collaboratively, effectively and efficiently with all internal/external partners and stakeholders
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Computer Science or related field
- GIS certificate or demonstrated record of progressing GIS training. Knowledge of and experience with the latest GIS methodologies (e.g. remote sensing)
- Fluency in ArcGIS Software (10.1 or newer) and QGIS.
- 3 years plus of experience in designing, implementing and maintaining GIS data and applications
- GIS programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL)
- Proven analytical ability with demonstrated research and enterprise expertise
- Proven and consistent track record of meeting project deadlines with quality results
- Excellent project management, communication and time management skills
- Proficiency with other tools to interface with GIS data (e.g. Adobe PDF, Excel, Google Earth kmz files, AutoCAD, etc.)
Preferred
- Masters of Science degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Computer Science or related field preferred
- Solar, energy or clean tech education or work experience
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience working with and training non-GIS users to a basic level of GIS understanding and report reading ability
