Job Summary:
As a Sr. GIS Analyst you will manage effective reporting, support overall data analytics, perform competitive intelligence modeling, create and manage enterprise datasets and support critical GIS functions.
Responsibilities:
Reporting and Analytics
- Introduce effective reporting tool to Market Research and Analysis (MRA) environment.
- Create effective and intuitive dashboards and reports supporting annual, periodic, and ad-hoc MRA requirements. Examples include Market Profile, Competitive Change, Site Sales Datasheet, Store Dashboard, Site Dashboard
- Transition existing reporting to new toolsets as needed
- Leverage corporate technologies including Oracle, Domo, Datastream, Teradata, and BigRed
- Act as liaison with EDABI to communicate requirements for external-facing reporting and modeling
- Create and manage reports within ArcGIS environment
Competitive Analytics
- Deliver insights and visual and tabular analyses of chain- and market-wide competitive trends and dynamics via reports, maps, dashboards, and data access tools
- Create impactful tools modeling sales retention, competitive impact, and competitive proximity
- Achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of competitive dynamics and activity through a variety of primary research methods and vendor-based data feeds
- Incorporate incoming intelligence into master competitive dataset
- Collaborate with EDABI and TTS to ensure accurate and timely flow of monthly competitive data updates
Data Management
- Maintain accurate GIS datasets within central geodatabase
- Ensure timely and accurate data flow following ISR approval
- Manage sales forecast history for stores, sites, scenarios, and projects
- Manage annual demographic update across GIS/MRA systems
- Perform GIS overlays to gather and store demographic data for Target trade areas
- Leverage SQL commands and sequences to manipulate data
- Manage team SharePoint and MapSpot portals
Mapping
- Gain proficiency in ArcGIS desktop and ArcGIS Online web apps
- Create reference maps and map sets as required
- Provide project support to web mapping environment as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Proven database proficiency
- Analytic thinker with intuitive and imaginative approach
- Strong report creation experience
- Strong detail ownership and project management skills
- Programming/scripting ability: SQL, Python, JavaScript
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and roles
