Survey Supervisor

Job Summary:

Becher Hoppe is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to lead our surveying group in providing outstanding service to our clients and internal project teams. There’s a list of qualifications below, but equally important is finding someone with high integrity and a great work ethic who is not afraid to explore new directions, and who is a good fit with our company culture. The preferred candidate will
have 5 years’ survey experience in design, construction, and special purpose surveys for roadways and site development. Previous supervisory experience is preferred, and airport survey experience is desired.

Duties:

The Survey Supervisor will coordinate estimating, scoping, and writing contracts for projects; establish standards for survey and mapping practices; draft plans and record drawings; and supervise survey crew members. Supervisor will explore leads and opportunities for survey services, cross-sell company services, and market for repeat business and referrals. Supervisor will work as survey crew when necessary.

Qualifications:

• PLS license
• 5 years’ survey experience
• Associate or Bachelor degree helpful
• Proven leadership, planning, and creative problem solving
• Advanced communication skills, with a sense of humor
• Experience with Transportation Project Plats and WisDOT standards
• Dedicated to teamwork and staff development
• Passion for technology and its implementation
• Resourceful problem solver focused on accuracy and attention to detail
• Advanced skills with Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Trimble
  Business Center
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software products
• Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 50 pounds of equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 100
  pounds
• Valid driver’s license
