The City of New Richmond is hiring! We are seeking a motivated and energetic team player to join our highly effective Public Works team. This position will report to the Public Works Director and will manage the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS). This is a regular full-time position with a starting salary of $50,000-$57,000 depending on qualifications.

This position requires knowledge of GIS industry standard procedures and techniques, experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, ESRI mapping services (ArcMap, ArcOnline, Collector), Trimble GPS equipment and Terrasync software. Additionally, the person in this position must be able to read and interpret legal descriptions, and use graphic instructions such as blueprints, layouts, maps or other visual aids.

The ideal candidate will be organized, possess the ability to manage more than one project at a time, and provide effective and responsive service to all City staff and residents. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail; the ability to perform mathematical calculations and maintain accurate and complete records and files; and the ability to compose correspondence, reports and other written materials. The ability to meet deadlines, perform under minimal supervision, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform in high stress situations will be a must for this position.

Employees must have a minimum of a four-year college degree in GIS or related field and one-year of professional experience. Equivalent education and professional experience may be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience with the following: ArcGIS and ArcOnline, Microsoft Office products, drafting, and Adobe Creative Suite software, and must possess knowledge of information technology.
