Continental Mapping is currently seeking a Computer Programmer for our Sun Prairie, WI office. You will learn our workflows and talk to our production and management staff to understand their needs and design tools and write code to solve those needs. Software development will include commercial application specific tools, our own back office applications, database interface, as well as web and mobile components and interfaces. In addition to writing code, the programmer will be instrumental in designing the tools and applications. Documentation and user training may also be required. Working with geospatial production personnel who will assist in testing will be a critical function of this position.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional programming experience
  • Experience developing tools for desktop, web, and mobile environments
  • Experience working with .Net, Python, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, and Node.js
  • Experience developing applications with service oriented architecture or MVC
  • Experience designing and developing tools and applications for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS
  • Experience working with data in various databases to include SQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Data warehousing and real-time data mart population experience
  • Experience porting previously developed source code and tools to a new development environment
  • Experience with AI and machine learning algorithms is a plus
  • Experience working with C and C++ is considered a plus
  • Knowledge of geospatial concepts is considered a plus
  • Experience with open source GIS tools such as QGIS and GDAL is considered a plus
  • Experience developing software that interface with ArcGIS data sets is considered a plus
