Job Summary:
The Database Manager will provide technical support to project managers on Environmental Investigation and Remediation projects for Bay West’s various Federal, State, and Private sector clients. Activities include supporting field data collection, data management, production of maps and figures for clients. Understanding, collecting, and constructing various graphic images for client reports. Responsibility for collecting and reporting data from a variety of equipment and sources and makes recommendations to Project Manager.
Duties:
- Management of project data using a variety of platforms to include Synectics Environmental Data Management Systems and ArcGIS.
- Collects data and develops maps, diagrams, figures, and shape files in support of field work, project plans, and project reporting using data from a variety of sources
- Preparation of project technical reports
- Performs GIS project management, database creation/maintenance, and metadata documentation
- Supports interface with community stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in GIS, Environmental Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results
- Strong professional, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understand maps, schematic drawings, diagrams, and instruction manuals Flexible working style, self-initiative, self-motivation and a willingness to work with teams to meet clients’ needs and project schedules Strong working knowledge and experience with various ArcGIS and include Synectics Environmental Data Management Systems
- Experience working with ArcGIS for Server and publishing map services
- Experience working with and maintaining geodatabases
- GIS scripting/programming skills (VB.net, VBA, HTML, Java, Python, etc.)
- Functional knowledge of AutoCAD Map 3D 2012
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Essential Travel Requirements:
Position may require an approximate 5-year part time field commitment at Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant, Mead Nebraska. Limited overnight travel to satellite offices and client locations may be required,
