Duties:

  • Complete land survey as prescribed by a Professional Licensed Surveyor
  • Maintain equipment including but not limited to: electronic theodolite, GPS/GNSS surveying gear, field surveying supplies, car, tools, and other equipment as needed
  • Travel from job to job working independently and communication with the operations center to receive jobs
  • Transport and set up the instruments and equipment associated with surveying land, and preparing the job site for survey.
    • Locate monuments or set at every change of direction in the boundary of the subject lot and/or witness monuments on a water boundary, preserve boundary or other inaccessible location
    • Locate and dimension all relevant improvements adequately
    • Properly upload files, including (as appropriate to the equipment being used) the coordinate file in a comma delimited ASCII file format (usually a .txt or .csv file) the raw file, the .pdf, .dwg & .zip files
    • Procedurally correct elevation determinationUse JAVAD GPS/GNSS land surveying equipment to:
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to make mathematical calculations such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Knowledge of mathematics and drafting
  • Residential or Commercial development and construction projects
  • Experience with GPS, total stations and data collectors
  • Prior field work for land surveying including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, topographic, etc.
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff

Preferred Experience:

  • Survey Crew Chief – 5 years
  • JAVAD – 1 year preferred but not required
