Field Survey Technician

Job Summary:

We are offering a Field Survey Technician position in a well established surveying firm that specializes in commercial land surveying. We are looking for a motivated, flexible, self-starter to work closely with other team members on a crew and office staff to produce accurate and highly detailed land surveys. We specialize in ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, large scale design surveys (i.e. public and private schools, college and universities hospitals, churches, major facilities, bank and lending institutions, etc.), site construction staking, FEMA surveys, Digital Terrain Models (DTM), etc.

Duties:

• Working in various places to prepare Boundary, Topographic, ALTA and Construction layout surveys
• Extended hours while on site
• Will be obtaining field information and in sight to help prepare a survey of premises
• Operating Topcon GPS and Total Stations to collect site information
• Learning on the job from others with experience in surveying

Qualifications:

• Prior use or knowledge of survey grade GPS equipment, Total stations is preferred but not required.
• 2 years field surveying experience or Land Surveying degree preferred but not necessary. If applicant feels they have qualifying experience, we would entertain an opportunity to discuss that.
• Positive mental attitude
• Need to have basic math skills
• Enjoy working outside in all the elements year round
• Ability to work well with crew members & office personnel
• Basic computer knowledge and abilities
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Valid class D driver’s license
