Job Summary:

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated full-time surveyor for our Middleton, WI office. This position will work mostly independently and will conduct surveys throughout the Wisconsin.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include construction staking, boundary surveys; developing plats in CAD from field data collection and design layout; performing topographic, utility, and right-of-way surveys; and performing survey calculations for transportation, municipal and aviation projects. Must be able to work long hours and occasional weekends and be able to travel alone to job sites. This position requires heavy lifting and working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an associate degree in land surveying or civil engineering and at least six years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree in surveying or civil engineering and at least four years of relevant experience. A Professional Land Surveyor license in the state of Wisconsin is also required.

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following: plat experience; experience with construction staking and boundary surveys; experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD; knowledge of legal descriptions; experience with GPS and robotic total station operations. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to work independently as well as with a team; be self-motivated; and possess good communication skills (both written and verbal).
