Job Summary:

POWER’s Geospatial and Asset Management Solutions team is seeking junior, mid, and senior level GIS Consultants and Software Developers to join our team of industry experts as we continue building for the future!  Preference will be given to candidates that are willing and able to work/telecommute out of our Minneapolis, MN office.

Duties:

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where there are opportunities to work with a wide variety of multi-disciplined project teams that involve our internal staff along with resources from other POWER Engineers’ business units, business partners, and client teams
  • Support and maintain complex software applications for clients in the Electric, Gas, Water and Telecommunications Utility sectors
  • Interface with a diverse customer base to understand and document requirements, develop robust software designs, and construct innovative software solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and continuously improve development processes, standards, and tools
  • Provide high quality and timely written and oral communications both internally and with clients
  • Grow with experience to assume more direct responsibility in supporting clients
  • Willing and able to travel when required and to successfully engage at client sites

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, GIS, Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar degree that focuses on software development and/or GIS skills
  • Experience and expertise in C#, Visual Studio, TFS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Esri and ArcFM products
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Natural talent for software development, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Conversant with software revision control and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile)
  • An ability to learn and apply new programming concepts and skills quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of object oriented software development using Visual Studio and C#
  • Experience interacting with clients

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Electric, Gas, Telecommunications or Water utility operations
  • Experience developing Utility applications in ArcGIS and ArcFM using ArcObjects, Python, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Cityworks or other work/asset management applications
  • In depth understanding of web development concepts including HTML5, Javascript[CFE1] , Web Services development, and Web Application Frameworks (e.g. JQuery)
  • Familiarity with mobile development in Android or IOS
  • Conversant with 3D modeling and analysis
