Job Summary:
The QTI Group is partnering with a surveying and engineering firm in Madison to recruit a Professional Land Surveyor. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and feel comfortable working in the field.
Duties:
- Perform multiple survey activities with minimal or no supervision
- Boundary, topographic, and construction surveys for public and private clients
- Work may include preparation of CAD survey drawings
- Perform field survey activities in accordance with standards set by state statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping
- Interpret survey maps and construction plans
- Supervise vehicle and equipment inventory, loading and maintenance
- Make timely requests for external equipment, procedural changes, new equipment purchases and vehicle maintenance to Survey Department Manager
- Supervise the Survey Crews use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection
- Communicate with the entire company about all aspects of the project
- Provide input to Survey Department Manager for the formal performance evaluation of Survey Crew members
- Ability to work extended hours as required to meet client, project and/or business demands
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- 5 or more years of Survey Experience
- PLS certification required
- Previous experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Equipment
- An Associate’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related degree is required
