Job Summary:
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently filling an IS Data Services Professional position within the Division of Environmental Management, Bureau of Remediation and Redevelopment. This position is stationed in our Milwaukee office.
This position is responsible for assisting with the design and development of the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program’s GIS mapping applications, in addition to supporting program database and records management needs.
Duties:
Primary responsibilities include the implementation and oversight of geographic information systems (GIS) and its application to the RR program by geolocating contaminated sites; developing and managing the RR Program’s web map and feature services; performing technical data and database design; analyzing data requirements; performing spatial data analyses; and assisting with QA/QC to support RR Program IT operations and business needs.
Qualifications:
Required
- Experience using geospatial mapping tools, specifically with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online
- Database operation experience, such as running queries, creating reports, and data analysis
- Experience working as part of a project team (e.g. work groups, special team assignments, etc)
- Records management experience (e.g. developing a management system, maintaining current systems, verifying, evaluating, or disposing of current records within systems, etc)
Preferred
- GIS certification
- Experience providing training or presentations to internal staff / customers
- Experience analyzing and/or interpreting organizational rules or policies
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science field
