Job Summary:
Becoming an Engineering Tech would allow you to be involved with stormwater management within local government, ranging from assisting with stream and detention basin inventory training for interns and creating, maintaining and enhancing digital field data collection forms to preparing GIS figures and analysis in support of planning and regulatory efforts. Your day will consist of assisting in the inspection of permitted and construction related developments in the field, and assisting in the collection of survey information using GPS technologies You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments and the public, is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.
Qualifications:
In order to be successful in this role you should have a bachelor’s degree with course work or professional experience in GIS and intermediate level experience with the ESRI ArcGIS software suite including proficiency with Collector for ArcGIS, Survey123, and ArcGIS Online. Individuals should have a working knowledge of Model Builder and Python programming is a plus; possess the ability to effectively problem solve and have the ability to work both individually and in a team atmosphere.
