Job Summary:
Our growing firm has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level GIS Technician to join a well-established and growing GIS team in the Burnsville area. If you are a motivated problem solver who enjoys collaborating in a fast-paced atmosphere, this would be a great opportunity for you!
The qualified GIS Technician candidate would provide support on a variety of GIS related projects for both internal and external clients. The position will primarily be responsible for assisting our team on municipal mapping, data analysis and map development and layout.
Qualifications:
Required
- The selected candidate will have an applicable Degree in Geography, Computer Science or GIS related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of one (1) year of GIS experience or Master’s Degree.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS v10.x suite
- Experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
- Knowledge of developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
- Ability to work within a team atmosphere
- Must possess a valid driver’s license. Regional travel may be required.
Preferred
- Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works and Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Knowledge of Trimble GPS devices
