Job Summary:
Survey field technician to support and assist crew chiefs with field surveying for all types of boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction layout. Survey field technician responsibilities include assisting with set up and operation of equipment and instruments to measure, record and calculate data for construction staking and other types of surveying. Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or NSPS Survey Technician Certification is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience in surveying or construction
- Experience with, or ability to learn, Leica GPS and Robotic Total Station
- Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information, communicate with employees, clients/contractors and the general public, and to maintain routine written logs and simple records
- Acceptable driving record and valid Class D driver’s license.
- Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends, to accommodate Contractor’s schedule
- Ability to travel, including some overnight stays, if needed
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time.
