Job Summary & Duties:

Cardno is seeking a GIS Specialist to sit in one of our Wisconsin offices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create custom and standard map products for internal and external use as requested
  • Use ArcMap tools, and extensions to accomplish project and analysis objectives
  • Create and manage ArcGIS Online maps for web mapping applications and user data collection
  • Create maps, graphics and charts on a regular and as-needed basis
  • Convert, edit, transfer, and validate GIS data
  • Update GIS databases, maps, website content, and documentation on an ongoing basis
  • Gather GIS data and assist in the development of file structures and data collection methods
  • Create documentation of procedures and processes, metadata, and best practices for projects
  • Consult with internal and external clients to analyze and determine user information needs

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in geography, or related field of study
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional experience working with ESRI’s ArcGIS (candidates with a Master’s Degree and
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and applications of geography, cartography and GIS systems and GPS principles
  • Knowledge or experience with standard GPS data collection/processing/management
  • Basic understanding of, and a willingness to learn, environmental science and natural resource management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ESRI’s ArcGIS (10.X or higher)
