Job Summary & Duties:
The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), Division of Family and Economic Security, Bureau of Child Support is currently recruiting to fill a Research Analyst Advanced position in Madison, WI.
This position performs complex data mining and predictive analytics work related to the child support program and the utilization of a data warehouse. This person is a technical expert, working to support the program’s goals of providing support to Wisconsin families. The position works closely with management, program and information technology staff within and across collaborating agencies. To carry out the responsibilities of this position, the incumbent utilizes exceptional research and statistical analysis skills, a high level of proficiency with computers and administrative data and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
This position requires a particular emphasis on building expertise within BCS related to utilization of DCF program-related data including, but not limited to data from the Kids Information Data System (KIDS), and other programmatic statewide systems.
Qualifications:
Required
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative statistical analyses for research
- Experience extracting and manipulating information from databases using SQL code, SAS, and/or other tools
- Experience gathering user requirements and providing statistical design advice to customers
- Experience interpreting and evaluating program policy
Preferred:
- Experience with predictive analytics and data mining methods (i.e. regression, cluster analysis, decision trees, supervised learning, and machine learning
- Experience leading project teams
- Experience with federal and state children and family support programs (i.e. Child Support, Wisconsin Works, Food Share, Medicaid, and/or employment programs)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
