Job Duties:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures
  • Accurately run survey measuring instruments including Global Navigation Software System (GNSS) equipment and robotic total stations.
  • Interpret contracts and project specifications assigned to accurately collect required data.
  • Collect quality field survey data.
  • Conduct GNSS processing; conventional observation reductions and level reductions.
  • Conduct a statistical analysis of results and least squares adjustments.
  • Keep accurate field notes by recording all important data.
  • Utilize 3D Civil Software to produce design calculations, alignment calculations and drafting responsibilities.
  • Attend and participate in planning meeting to coordinate work between the Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Foreman of each project.
  • Prepare and submit submittals, RFI’s, and change orders.
  • Responsible for quality and strict adherence to all safety standards in order to achieve the most efficient operation as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five to seven years of construction/heavy civil layout experience.
  • Experience utilizing Robotic Tool Station and GNSS equipment.
  • Basic understanding of Gyro-theodolites and mining surveying techniques.
  • Basic math skills.
  • A theoretical knowledge of engineering and geography.
  • Possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions
  • Applicants must be able to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management
  • Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the DOT Operations Director and Michels Legal Department.
  • Direct Pipe, Pipeline Construction, and Tunneling Industry experience desired.
