Job Summary:
This position involves hands-on technical support of a growing GIS consulting firm in central Illinois. As a professional geospatial provider our services consist of a good combination of surveying, mapping, GPS collection, asset management with GIS, and are currently expanding into the 3-D market with UAV’s (drones) & LiDAR data. Primary responsibilities of this position will include field inventories, data collection with GPS equipment, working with GIS data, image processing for aerial mapping, and assisting with aerial UAV (drone) projects throughout the state. Opportunities exist for working with 3-D modeling / LiDAR projects as well. Look for opportunities to grow and be a part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Holding or pursuing a degree in Engineering, Surveying, GIS or related technical field
- Ability to obtain a GISP certificate within 3 years is a plus
- Ability to quickly learn new hardware & software components
- Interest in working on geospatial & asset management projects
- Interest in working with GIS software and spatial databases
- Technical skills with computers, mobile devices, drones, or GPS equipment
- Ability to learn cartographic principles and modern mapping techniques
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Travel throughout Illinois including occasional overnight stays
- Creating and publishing layers with ArcGIS Desktop & ArcGIS Online
- Bluetooth GPS integration with Collector for ArcGIS
- Esri’s Parcel Fabric editing workflows
- Creating and Editing GIS data for 911 and Public Safety
