The Townsend Lab at UW-Madison is looking for student workers for remote sensing data processing (and possibly some analysis). This includes data from both imaging spectrometers and handheld spectrometers. We have an imaging spectrometer that we fly on a plane, and are looking for students interested in learning how to process hyperspectral data and perform some basic analyses of the data. Programming expertise is not necessary (some experience is helpful), but students will need to be willing to work with programs we have written to process the spectral data. Our research involves understanding the ecosystem function of vegetation using remote sensing.

Experience: Some experience with a GIS or remote sensing type program (such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Envi), Experience working with data in Excel or similar program
