Job Summary:
We are searching for an experienced GIS Analyst to build geospatial analytic capabilities at Stearns Bank with a focus on leveraging spatial content to inform better decisions. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing GIS analyses, mapping and solutions to support market analysis, customer analysis, and process improvement. This GIS Analyst will provide expertise in geospatial analytics and demonstrate how GIS can add value to the critical business of Stearns Bank.
Duties:
- Provide technical expertise in geospatial analyses, spatial databases, and mapping.
- Research, plan, design, and implement geospatial analyses and maps which demonstrate how GIS can benefit the organization
- Acquisition of geospatial data from various sources
- Design and implement backend processes for geospatial data manipulation and integration
Assist in development of best practices for geospatial data management - Develop data visualization tools in interactive web and other formats
- Collaborate on work efforts with the Data Analysts
- Perform other duties as needed and as assigned
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, GIS, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated GIS analysis experience
- Proficiency with data manipulation languages (i.e. SQL, Triggers, Stored Procedures, SQL Functions) and database design principles
- Demonstrated knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. PostGreSQL, SQL Server)
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of geospatial data creation, editing, conversion, and processing
- Expertise in ArcGIS Desktop and Esri data structures
- Experience with Python and Esri’s model builder
- Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Online (Portal a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Ability to create and maintain trusting working relationships
- Ability to understand business and organizational needs and effectively apply GIS technology to add business value
- Solid team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
