Electrical Distribution Design Intern

Job Summary:

Connexus Energy is a progressive company that provides electric service to customers in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  We are seeking a solutions driven individual to complete assigned tasks in support of the Distribution Design Team.  As a Distribution Design Intern, you will assist the Distribution Designers in the planning, designing, mapping, and staking of overhead and underground distribution lines.

The internship is a temporary position requiring full-time hours during the summer with the possibility of transitioning into part-time hours during the school year.

Duties:

• Assist in the design of Connexus Energy’s distribution system by providing technical support and administrative support to the Distribution Design Workgroup
• Assist in filing permit requests with government agencies for the construction of distribution lines
• Aid in the preparation of design documents that consist of material lists, sketches, work status, mapping, and cost estimates
• Update existing maps and creating custom maps as assigned in ArcGIS
• Operate computer software applications to aid in preparing construction work orders
• Assist distribution designers in design, measuring routes, flagging routes, and staking of new services, system improvements, road construction, and other types of projects
