Job Summary:
The City of Verona is recruiting to fill a GIS Technician vacancy. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Construction Manager. The work will consist of doing on-going updates the City of Verona GIS program for the Storm Water, Sanitary Sewer and Water Utilities. Other tasks will include general map creation using the City’s GIS data for the Director of Public Works or staff as requested and collection of field data using the City’s GPS equipment. A specific project to review and update the data dictionaries used by the GPS data collector to be more directly compatible with the utility data base is anticipated.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have completed at least 1 introductory class in GIS and be familiar with ESRI ArcGIS software.
- An ability to use Microsoft WORD and EXCEL is required.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Access, TerraSync and Pathfinder software are highly desirable.
