Job Summary:
Field collect and update GIS data, using ESRI and Trimble GPS technology. Will perform desktop editing with ArcGIS for Desktop, data entry in various platforms, document scanning, and other related tasks.
Work is performed under general supervision of the Public Works Department Supervisors for efficiency and quality, in addition to Public Works GIS Analyst. Exercises no supervision.
Summer hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm (hours may vary), approximately May 1-end of September, 2019.
Duties:
- Collects highly accurate, high quality spatial information, including location and attributes of public structures.
- Most functions of the job will require staff to be outdoors, utilizing GPS technology, and walking between assets.
- Performs GIS related tasks as requested, including but not limited to data entry and document scanning.
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Education equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade.
- Enrollment in a degree program or graduation from an accredited college or university with a discipline in geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Valid Class D Minnesota Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass driving record check and drug screen
Preferred
- Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Experience using GPS/iPad for data collection.
