Premier Workforce Solutions is seeking a full-time contract employee, 37.5 hours/week, to work with Bayfield County, Wisconsin. Work involves government functions including GIS, Tax Listing, Land Sales, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Surveying. The employee will assist in creating geographic information systems (GIS) layers and utilize an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to capture imagery for Bayfield County as well as updating existing data layers.  Starting salary is $18.13/hour; with two raises within 18 months based on work performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Update and create ArcGIS online story maps
  • Organize Northern Area GIS user group meetings
  • Train staff in ArcGIS
  • Use survey 123 for survey editing, finalizing, and training for those who will use the program
  • Use UAS to capture aerial imagery and process imagery using Pix4d software
  • Update roads and driveways layer
  • Fulfill map requests for public and County offices
  • Create supporting data layers for Bayfield County plat book and poster
  • Discuss policies and procedures for internal and external drone information storing. Open data for imagery. Cataloguing drone info/inventory tracking
  • UAS group development

Skills needed:

  • Cartographic skills
  • Remote sensing and aerial photography interpretation skills
  • Eye for detail and eye hand coordination
  • Editing ability in SDE environment
  • Use a plat book
  • Using ArcGIS 10 x 6
  • Use ArcPro 2x
  • Use Survey 123
  • Use ArcGIS Online
  • Working in an office with many government functions and will receive exposure with each function when needed

Qualifications:

Candidates should be a graduate of a Bachelor program or higher in geography, land records, geology, natural resources or related field. 1 year of GIS and Land Records experience. Paid or unpaid internships will count toward experience.

Must have or be able to pass and obtain Remote Pilot license after one month of hire.

Candidates must have a valid WI Driver’s License

Candidates must be able to use and interpret a variety of maps

Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and possess good oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Some work performed outdoors in a variety of conditions with occasional exposure to pollen, dust, odors, etc.
