GIS Applications Manager

Job Summary:

As the Manager of GIS Applications, you will ensure top performance of these critical systems for use by renewable project developers and other support teams throughout the corporation.

Duties:

• Administer ESRI/ArcGIS and other land systems (production and development) ensuring they run efficiently in line with department policies. Troubleshoot and rectify problems that arise
• Point person for ArcGIS related applications. Develop apps, manage data, create reports, maps and improve the systems
• Lead the continuing development of the GIS database and applications. Support Development, IT and Engineering relations with necessary GIS tools, apps and SQL Server geodatabase
• Manage system integrations between and outside of ArcGIS and identify, test and resolve complex database issues (e.g. monitoring and tuning)
• Plan and Support test procedures, pre-production database environments, system backups, database archive operations, quality control, version control, deployment, data migration and data conversion
• Define, recommend and develop database standards, procedures and architecture
• Be actively involved in the GIS community and the company liaison to evaluate feature enhancements and trends for recommended implementations
• Regularly monitor system performance, lead system updates and maintenance, and provide recommendations for improvements
• Review application logs, create and verify backups of data, and manage user accounts
• Special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

• BSc/Ba in Geography, GIS, or Computer Science
• 7 or more years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS Platforms, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle database
• Fluency in scripting languages and tools such as: SQL, Python, .NET, ArcGIS Model Builder and other spatial data processing tools.
• Database generation workflow experience

Preferred

• Experience with Survey123 and Collector apps ideal
• Working knowledge of Quorum and Global Mapper
