Job Summary:
MSA Professional Services is currently looking for a full time Survey Technician in their Madison office. This person will complete field and office survey related duties accurately and on time for internal and external clients. We offer project exposure to a variety of municipal and private projects.
Duties:
- Gather information for survey, topographical mapping, cross-sections, horizontal and vertical control, location of right of way, and utility locations to be used in preparation of plans and specification
- Complete Boundary/Retracement surveys
- Either manually or with CAD programs transfer field information into drawings.
- Perform office functions including computations, reduction of field notes, filing and retrieving prints, and running prints
- Assist in municipal plan preparation, construction observation, and staking
Qualifications:
- An associate’s degree in surveying, civil engineering technology, or related degree is required
- A valid driver’s license is required
- The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of prior surveying experience
- Previous experience with municipal infrastructure projects and construction staking is preferred
- Previous experience with Auto Cad, Civil 3D, or Trimble Business Center Basic is a plus
- PLS or Certified Survey Technician or desire to obtain in the future
- Solid written and communication skills
