Job Summary:
The City of Eau Claire is looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to fill a Seasonal Survey Crew Chief position. This position performs services in the field and office requiring specialized technical abilities in the preparation of plans and operation of a survey crew. This position is responsible for performing duties as assigned, employing checks to maintain a high degree of accuracy, and detecting/relating any potential construction issues to the City Surveyor.
Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to: operating surveying instruments including tapes, electronic survey equipment, GPS, levels, and data-collection equipment; performing technical survey duties, such as calculating horizontal and vertical curves, setting bench marks, and more; and setting grades for construction activities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of survey field experience, and must maintain a valid driver’s license. Candidates are expected to be able to read and interpret construction plans, perform technical mathematical computations related to survey and design problems, have knowledge of surveying methods and procedures, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
