Payrate: Starting salary is between $38.00 and $38.59 per hour ($79,040 and $80,267 annually), depending on qualifications plus excellent benefits.

The Photogrammetry Unit Supervisor reports directly to the Chief Surveying and Mapping Engineer. This position is responsible for supervising engineers and technical staff involved in the development and execution of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Photogrammetric & Aerial Mapping projects and related sensor technologies including Light Detecting And Ranging (LiDAR) activities in support of the Department’s 3D Initiative.

The responsibilities assigned to this position require professional, engineering and technical judgment, involving significant consequences of error.

This position provides leadership and professional development to central office statewide experts as well as to Regional surveyors, engineers, and staff in other state agencies by assessing their mapping needs and by pushing for innovations and efficiencies. Staff supervised provide expertise in the critical deliverables required for highway improvement projects.

This position is responsible for developing budgets and recommending expenditure of funds for the Photogrammetry Unit as well as providing oversight in the negotiation and administration of consultant contracts related to photogrammetric and engineering surveying. This position represents the Bureau of Technical services at Consultant Services meetings and contributes to updates in consultant contract processes and procedures.

In addition, this position is responsible for providing oversight for administrative functions in support of Bureau activities at Truax Center.
