DESCRIPTION:

de maximis Data Management Solutions (ddms) is seeking a full-time GIS Solution Architect. The location for this position is flexible and could potentially be work-from-home for the right candidate. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-discipline project team focusing on GIS enterprise implementations and customizations, primarily using the Esri ArcGIS product suite. The GIS Solution Architect will work closely with clients to determine technical direction and requirements for various aspects of a GIS enterprise implementation, perform system configuration and set up, and provide help desk-type system support.

Duties include both hands-on work and management of work done by others, as well as significant contributions towards team meetings, project management, and client training and communications. Day-to-day tasks may include meeting with clients, configuring maps and applications, administering permissions, working with development teams on customizations, managing legacy data migrations, designing and implementing workflows, automating and documenting system workflows and processes, and performing custom GIS data analysis and visualizations. This position requires the ability to commit to infrequent travel throughout the year. The successful candidate will also participate in leading ddms’ GIS Center of Excellence.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Experience in administrating/configuring/implementing/customizing Esri’s core product line (e.g.,ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online) including managing data workflows, configuring tools (e.g., Insights, Story Maps, Collector for ArcGIS and Survey 123) and a solid understanding of enterprise geodatabases.
  • Experience managing environmental databases, using database applications, and related languages (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, SQL syntax Microsoft Access)
  • Proven fluency in modern office software programs and how to integrate with GIS (e.g., SharePoint, PowerBI, MS SQL Server, Excel)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the physical sciences, computer science, engineering or geography
  • Knowledge of programming/ scripting (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
  • Project or Task Management experience; ability to contribute towards project, task and budget management
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills; comfortable communicating and presenting to clients, vendors, etc.
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Positive attitude and ability and desire to learn new technical skills quickly
  • Must be a self-motivator, enjoy problem solving, and able to work both independently and within team environments

DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Experience in customizing Esri Webmap applications using JavaScript
  • Experience in the environmental remediation industry
  • Experience using EarthSoft’s EQuIS products
  • Experience using reporting software (e.g., SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau)
