Pepin County’s Land Information Office collects GIS data from a variety of sources. It has many files, some are duplicates, some are lacking data. It does not have a process for collecting and organizing data. Pepin County would like assistance putting the data in a centralized geodatabase to make the data more easily accessible and inline with industry standards for entering data, like standards for 911 phone calls. A UW-Madison intern will sort the data received from Pepin County to determine if it is accurate and networked correctly, and to make recommendations on how to organize data going forward. Recommendations should include a mobile app to collect and enter data in the field. Other possible options include the ESRI Local Government Information Model or ARC Catalog.
