We invite you to bring your Geospatial analysis skills into play as you will assist senior staff and clients of the firm with geospatial data management, map production, spatial analyses, and data visualization using ArcGIS, and other geospatial or modeling software. Additional duties may include database management support and data analysis. To succeed in this role, you must have BS in Geology, Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Ecology, or related field and 0-5 years experience in a related field. You will join our Environment and Health department

As our new GIS Analyst you will be part of our Sediment Management team in Chicago. You will work with all levels of expertise from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their fields. Consultants and Managers are part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job tasks.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Geospatial analysis, modeling, map production
  • Project level database management techniques
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills (flexibility and aptitude for learning)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Visualization of sediment, surface, ground water, and other environmental data
  • Raster data processing
  • Map layout and design
  • Data collection and compilation
  • Database management
  • Data analysis and management in Excel
  • Programming in R or Python

  • BS in Geology, Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Ecology, or related field
  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 0-5 years related experience
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS (Desktop, Online) and companion extensions
  • Experience with data visualization and map production
  • Experience with geospatial data management
  • Experience with GPS/GIS data collection and compilation
  • Experience with AutoCAD
