GIS Technician

Rusk County is accepting applications for a full time County GIS Technician to work in our Land Conservation and Development Department. The GIS Technician will be responsible for making maps, customized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and manipulating data to serve a variety of purposes. Candidate should be able to read and interpret maps, manipulate and understand digital land data and manage data entered into a GIS database. The person in this position is also responsible for assisting the Land Records Division with maintaining records of the County Surveyor’s office, assigning rural address numbers and providing information to the public. The GIS Technician reports to the GIS Specialist but their direct supervisor is the Land Conservation and Development Director.

Qualifications: Requires 2-3 years of experience in developing and maintaining GIS data including use of Esri software.
