Land Surveyor

Foth Infrastructure and Environment, LLC is currently seeking a team-focused and results-oriented Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) who has a desire to contribute to our clients’ success by teaming with technical leaders in designing innovative solutions for complex multi-faceted geospatial projects across our three divisions: Infrastructure, Environment, and Production Solutions. As a PLS, you will utilize your technical knowledge for mentoring and educating engineers, scientists, and other geospatial specialists throughout Foth on the continually evolving application of technical advancements in your field. This position will be working out of our Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN location.

Primary Responsibilities

• • Provide technical geospatial and project management skills as a lead surveyor
  • Coordinate scheduling with local survey personnel and with other Foth offices as needed
  • Perform equipment installations and conduct tests requiring selection and/or adaptation or modification of equipment or testing procedures
  • Perform right-of-way platting including, but not limited to, research, horizontal and vertical control, preparing base maps, computing existing R/W, parcel lines, permanent and temporary easements, and writing descriptions for purchasing of R/W and easements
  • Prepare legal descriptions
  • Assist in 3D laser scanning efforts
  • Complete description writing, interpretation and layout for a variety of surveys including easement, property, ALTA, site, topographic, construction staking, etc.
  • Perform boundary/control surveying and mapping
  • Maintain and operate instruments, measuring devices and other field equipment

Required Qualifications

• • Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Minnesota
  • 5+ years of survey experience

Preferred Qualifications

• • Experience with the following Trimble technology: Business Center Data Management Software, Robotic Total Stations with Vision Software, TSC3 with Trimble Access, DiNi Level, GNSS Receivers– RTK and Static Post Processing, TX5 and TX8 3D Scanners, and Realworks
  • 3D Scanning, Imaging and Drone experience
  • DOT experience with ROW platting
  • Knowledge of NGS Blue Booking Procedures
  • Experience with Governmental clients
  • Previous business development support with client interaction
