Job Summary 

This position entails doing GIS work with Election Data Unit. This position will create all maps for the Election Department. Will work with other divisions within Elections to ensure that they have the accurate maps to fulfill their election duties. They will also do the data background work needed for ballot styles. This employee will be required to perform research with the Election Data Unit. Customer service liaison to the voting public regarding the status of their voter registration applications and data for registered political organizations. Will act as official liaison on Machine Learning Google translation project.

Essential Job Duties

  • Creation and maintaining of all maps for Elections Department
  • Work with other divisions in elections (Polling Place, Early Voting, EOC) to ensure accurate maps
  • Work with GIS to ensure the accuracy of all taxing district data for Elections Department
  • Maintenance of Street Index
  • Work with other departments to get most accurate data for Street Index (Annexations)
  • Oversee the data modeled Election Portal estimating wait time for Early Voting.
  • Use GIS to assign early voting and polling place sites
  • Post-Census: Use GIS to do redistricting
  • Liason to Maching Learning Google translation project
  • Sorting of incoming mail
  • Scanning of batches
  • Research to resolve voter registration issues
  • Data request orders
  • Maintenance of voter registration and election information email accounts
  • Work with other departments to ensure voter database is as valid as possible
  • Voter information inquiry calls from voters
  • Candidate filing for petitions
  • Perform record examinations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited academic institution
  • One (1) year full-time work experience in data research
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Python, Machine Learning (TensorFlow) or other industry equivalent programs
