Planner: Community Development

Description:

North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NCWRPC) is searching for a highly motivated individual to become its newest staff member. The new
planner will be part of a professional team serving the communities of north central Wisconsin.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks focused on community development, including comprehensive planning, economic development, and
transportation planning. In addition, the position will be involved with a variety of other planning efforts and some grant writing. Work is completed at a town,
village, city, county, and regional level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

• Applicant should have basic knowledge of planning principles and practice, familiarity with various state and federal programs, strong communication skills,
  computer proficiency, and be able to handle multiple tasks and projects. Ability to collect, analyze, and report data is critical. Computer graphic skills and social media ability are highly desirable.
• A bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. At least one year of professional experience is desired. The position requires occasional attendance at night meetings and some travel. Applicants must possess or obtain a Wisconsin Driver’s license.
