Function:

Coordinates the creation, maintenance, and utilization of all County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data and services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the utilization of GIS between County departments, State agencies, and other interested parties. Develop and integrate GIS solutions to improve efficiencies within and between County departments.
  • Act as the County Land Information Officer to plan and implement the County’s Land Records Modernization program in conjunction with the WI DOA and the WLIP. Prepare the annual Land Records Budget and administer WLIP Grants.
  • Maintain and develop the County’s GIS layers, datasets, and workflows.
  • Responsible for the management of ArcGIS Enterprise, Server, and ArcGIS Online assets.
  • Coordinate updates and quality control GIS data utilized in the Spillman CAD software for NG 911.
  • Provides support and training for geographic information system users.
  • Working knowledge of Trimble GPS, plotters, printers, and digitizing tables.
  • Prepares GIS based maps in response to internal and external requests.

Education and Experience: 

Bachelors degree in geography, with emphasis on GIS. One to three years experience with Geographic Information Systems (ESRI products). Working knowledge of the Public Land Survey System, various coordinate systems, deeds, surveys and aerial photo interpretation.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Excellent data entry skills with the ability to work accurately. Working knowledge of the following software programs: ArcGIS Desktop, Server, Enterprise and other ESRI products, Microsoft Windows, SQL, Python.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, follow instructions, be self-motivated and easily adapt to new situations.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and technical information.
