Position Summary

The first LTE position assists the Department’s Bike and Pedestrian Coordinator. There are three main areas of focus related to bike and pedestrian planning activities: Manage the ADA inventory database repository, coordinate the data entry process and quality control/assurance of data including ArcGIS Online (AGO) field data collection efforts; assist with annual reporting and programming of curb ramp improvements; and assist with logistics and research for the Governor’s Bicycle Council.

The second LTE position will support systems planning activities for WisDOT. The Planning Section within the Bureau of Planning and Economic Development provides long-range transportation planning and maintains system planning information for the Department. This position assists the Department’s systems planning efforts, primarily through GIS analysis and mapping. This position also assists with review of various systems planning data and documentation to maintain data quality.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate that has experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS); creating written professional documents, this experience may be in writing reports, papers, or other communication; experience working in a team environment to complete a task or project; and experience presenting information to an audience. basic planning or transportation infrastructure knowledge and knowledge of planning and policy research is a plus.
