GIS Technician - LTE
The GIS Technician – LTE assists with GIS data development, ongoing maintenance, data editing, GPS data collection, and web map system inspections. They are assured hands-on exposure to many facets of GIS in a municipal government setting related to wastewater collection systems.
Work hours and schedule may be flexible and averages 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Convert, edit, or create geographic data as necessary using ArcPro.
- Knowledge of AGOL/Portal and related byproducts – Web Maps and Apps, Dashboards, etc.
- Assure GIS spatial accuracy, feature alignments, attribute population is complete.
- Frequent communication and documentation of progress will be required.
- Support GPS data collection with Field Maps for ArcGIS and Spectra SP20.
- Complete infield web GIS based inspection/maintenance reports via Field Maps for ArcGIS.
- A general understand of a wastewater collection systems and how it relates to GIS
REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
- Fluent with ArcPro 2.8
- Ability to independently learn new software and methods and solve problems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when editing GIS data and topology.
- Familiarity with GPS units and primary data collection in the field.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
