Position Summary

This position serves as the Leadworker for the Traffic Forecasting Section and is responsible for developing and overseeing traffic forecasts and travel behavior analyses, providing leadership in developing and implementing enhanced forecasting tools and methods, completing data analytics and visualization, reviewing the vehicle miles of travel (VMT) estimation process, and providing direction on the completion of special transportation planning studies. Work is completed for a range of customers including planners, engineers, policy advisors, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and Regional Planning Commissions (RPCs).

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an annual salary of $56,160-$81,120, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have all the following:

•    Experience with planning and policy issues, including but not limited to socio-economic, environmental, land use, and transportation impacts policy
•    Experience communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
•    Experience with policy analysis or program development
•    Experience writing, summarizing, and editing technical documents (such as long-range planning documents, technical reports, policy summaries, etc.)
•    Experience leading the work of others by performing tasks such as assigning work, directing work activities, reviewing work products, facilitating project meetings, guiding policy development, or comparable activities.
