GIS Intern

Position Summary and Job Duties

This is an internship opportunity. The primary tasks for the intern will be updating the building footprints, land use inventory, hydrology and railroads using current and historic LiDAR and Imagery. The intern will also be responsible for several smaller projects as needed by planning and economic development staff.

30% Update Land Use Inventory
30% Update Building Footprints
25% Update Hydrology
5% Update Railroads
5% Create and Update Economic Development Maps
5% Other duties as assigned

Success Factors (KSA’s)

-Experience with ArcGIS Pro
-Experience with Deep Learning in the ArcGIS Pro environment preferred
-Experience using ArcGIS Pro Spatial Analyst or Image Server preferred
-Ability to use logic and reasoning to solve problems
-Ability to be self-motivated

 Job Requirements, Education, Training & Experience

-Graduate or Undergraduate student, or recent graduate in Geographic Information Systems
-Experience using ArcGIS Pro required

-Work involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching and driving.
-Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
-Working conditions are mostly in an office environment.
