Bolton & Menk has an opening for an entry-level GIS Technician in our Minneapolis office. We’re looking for a motivated problem solver who enjoys collaboration in a fast-paced environment that will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in a Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Community! In this role, you would provide expertise on a wide variety of GIS projects for both internal and external clients. The position will primarily be responsible for assisting our team on transportation-related data gathering, analysis, and map development. As an Esri Business Partner, Bolton & Menk leverages the latest GIS software technology and methods for delivering cutting-edge results.
What you will be doing:
- Producing maps and project deliverables.
- Responsible for data management and analysis.
- Provide GIS Software-related support to staff and clients as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Associate’s degree in Geography, Computer Science or GIS or equivalent from an accredited college. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
- Ability to work within a team atmosphere
- Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint.
- Effective interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Possess valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GIS as it relates to transportation, public agencies, planning, and Civil Engineering.
- Knowledge of developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python.
- Developing knowledge of data analytics, advanced data visualization techniques and Big Data.
