Excellent opportunity for an experienced GIS professional! Barron County is recruiting for a full-time GIS Specialist position. As part of the Department of Land Services, this position supports the operations of the Land Information, Soil and Water Conservation and Zoning divisions along with other County departments. This position is responsible for managing the County’s GIS; creating, acquiring, documenting, and disseminating geographic information and land records. In addition, this position manages and maintains 911 address and road centerline data and serves as the County MSAG Coordinator. This position also coordinates land records projects with staff and stakeholders, is part of the county Land Information Council, and assists with preparation/reporting for funds/budget items associated with Land Information projects.
Required Education, Experience, Licensing, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or other related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years professional work experience in GIS required.
- Experience with ESRI Arc GIS Pro required.
- Comprehensive understanding of written legal descriptions and the PLSS.
$31.29 – $41.40/hour with and excellent benefit package!
