Job Summary: The Seasonal Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Assistant will assist with collecting high-accuracy data in the field, training staff to collect data and quality check the data back into the databases. Troubleshoot issues, maintain AGOL interactive map data collected will include but not be limited to the following infrastructure types: water, electric, site amenities, natural resources, pavement, etc.
Job Duties:
- Collect data in the field.
- Review GIS data after it is collected in field and review for errors using ESRI ArcPro software
- Train and assist staff with the collection of data in the field.
- Troubleshoot and maintain GPS receiver equipment.
- Maintain and update ESRI field maps and office editing maps.
- Other duties as necessary for the Park Planning Division workload
Required Qualifications:
- Current resident of WI
- Valid WI Driver’s License during application.
- Currently pursuing or have a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Geography, or another GIS-related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of mapping or GIS experience.
- Experience with the ESRI GIS package.
- Experience with collecting GIS field data.
