Senior GIS Analyst

Proxix Solutions, Inc. is a location intelligence company that specializes in developing advanced geospatial software and database solutions. Our solutions serve a range of different enterprises and applications, including insurance, tax, marketing and retail.

Position:
Proxix is looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to work in its Madison, WI office. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining several of our GIS database products.

Specific responsibilities include:
-Working independently to develop, maintain and deliver specific GIS products to our clients.
-Preparing metadata, status reports and other documentation for these products.
-Have comprehensive technical knowledge of GIS and data maintenance procedures.
-Communicating regularly with internal staff and clients regarding procedures in data collection and quality control processes.
-Recommending technical suggestions and solutions that would increase efficiency in the production of these products.

Skills & Qualifications:
Candidates for the Senior GIS Analyst must have:
-A four-year degree in geography or a related field with specialization or focus in GIS.
-2-5 years of professional experience with ArcGIS suite of products with actual experience editing and maintaining GIS data.
-Advanced knowledge of GIS concepts and strong organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimum oversight.Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Other highly desirable skills include experience with GIS applications for the tax and insurance industries.
