Description of Duties: Under general supervision, receives, evaluates and processes legal records pertaining to land ownership and jurisdictional boundaries from a variety of sources. Cadastral GIS Technicians are responsible for determining the intent of each document and the area towhich it applies. Duties include detecting errors in records and working with surveyors, lawyers and other originators to correctthem when necessary. Cadastral GIS Technicians update basis tax parcel information in the County’s tax system and also update theboundaries of tax parcels, subdivisions and taxing districts in the County’s geographic information system using ESRI Argossoftware. Maintaining address information for all tax parcels, and administering the assignment of addresses for unincorporatedareas. This position also answers questions and provides assistance to the public and to other government agencies over thetelephone and in person, receiving and accurately accounting for money received for the purchase of maps and other products.
